Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a free trial, enrolling as a student, stepping on the mat, or using believejiujitsu.com, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or participate in classes.

2. Assumption of Risk

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact martial art. Training carries inherent physical risks including (but not limited to) bruises, strains, joint injuries, and rare serious injury. By training at Believe Jiu Jitsu, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume these risks.

A separate liability waiver must be signed before your first class. Parents or legal guardians must sign on behalf of any student under 18.

3. Membership & Billing

• Memberships are billed monthly via the payment method on file unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• You can cancel at any time by notifying us in writing — either by email to Flavia@believejiujitsu.com or at the front desk. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
• We do not prorate or refund partial months once classes have begun.
• Fees may change with 30 days' notice.

4. Free Trial Class

The free trial is one complimentary class per new student. Trial is not transferable. Booking a trial does not create an ongoing enrollment — you choose whether to sign up after attending.

5. Uniform & Conduct Policy

Uniform

• Gi classes (Basics, Fundamentals, Advanced): black or white Gi only.
• Open Mat: any color Gi or No-Gi is acceptable.
• No-Gi: black shorts and rash guard. Spats or compression pants strongly recommended.
• Males must wear shorts over leg compressions.
• Rash guard required under the Gi kimono.
• Uniforms must be free of other academy logos and cleaned before and after every session.

Code of Conduct

• Respect instructors, training partners, and the mat.
• Maintain clean finger and toe nails, clean rash guards/Gis, and good personal hygiene.
• Report any skin condition, open cut, or illness to your coach before class — do not train if contagious.
• No shoes on the mat. No food or drinks (other than water) on the mat.
• No filming or photography of other students without their consent.
• Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or any form of discrimination.

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke membership for violations of this code of conduct without refund.

6. Minors

Students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign enrollment paperwork, liability waivers, and consent to participate in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and, where applicable, grappling competition.

7. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Believe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, its owners, instructors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for personal injury, property damage, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from training, use of the facility, or use of this website, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

8. Website Use

• Content on this site is provided for general information about our academy.
• All logos, images, and written content are the property of Believe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or our licensors, except where credited.
• You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute website content without written permission.
• Third-party calendars and booking tools are governed by their own terms of service.

9. Photography & Media

From time to time we photograph or record class activity for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in academy marketing, please notify us in writing — we will respect your preference. Parents must opt their minors in or out explicitly.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dorchester County, SC.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued training or website use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
