Professor Randy Gonzales is the head instructor and co-owner of Believe Jiu Jitsu, known for his dynamic teaching style and deep passion for the art. He earned his Black Belt under Professor Danny Stolfi and the world-renowned AOJ team, building on a foundation of excellence with his previous belts awarded by a 6th Degree Black Belt and World Champion.

Holding a Master's Degree in Science, Professor Randy brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical application to his instruction. His expertise in anatomy, physiology, and range of motion shapes every position he teaches — you don't just learn a move, you learn why it works.

Believe Jiu Jitsu offers a welcoming, family-oriented environment with something for every kind of student. Whether you're a parent getting back in shape, a teenager looking for confidence, or a competitor preparing for the next IBJJF tournament — the training meets you where you are.

Conveniently located inside Charleston Family Fitness in Summerville, the academy runs a full week of Gi and No-Gi classes across adults, teens, and two distinct kids programs. Every class is 60 minutes — focused, structured, and taught by people who know what they're doing.

  • Real AOJ-lineage instruction from a credentialed Black Belt
  • Separate programs for Little Kids (5-7) and Big Kids (8-13)
  • Homeschool classes daytime, adult classes morning & evening
  • Saturday Open Mat — any color Gi or No-Gi welcome
  • No contracts. Just training, taught well.
Uniform Policy

Clean kimono. Clean mat.

Gi & No-Gi Dress Code

  • Gi: Black or white Gi only during basics, fundamentals, and advanced classes.
  • Open Mat exception: Any color Gi or No-Gi is acceptable.
  • No-Gi: Black shorts and rash guard. Spats or compression pants strongly recommended.
  • Males: Shorts must be worn over leg compressions — no exceptions.
  • Rash guard: Always worn under the Gi kimono.
  • Brand: You don't have to buy our brand — just keep uniforms free of other academy logos.
  • Hygiene: Wash uniforms before and after every session, especially if training twice a day.
